On November 30 (N30) we celebrate many momentous events in revolutionary history. N30 is the day of:

  • ANDRES BONIFACIO’S birth: a hero of the Philippine Revolution of 1896 who led the Katipunan’s revolutionary armed resistance that kicked out Spanish colonizers.
  • The founding of KABATAANG MAKABAYAN (KM): “Patriotic Youth” the first comprehensive national democratic youth organization that formed in response to ongoing crisis against imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat capitalism, fought the Marcos regime and went underground to serve the armed revolution. KM serves as Anakbayan’s inspiration to uphold the revolutionary tradition of Filipino youth.
  • The founding of ANAKBAYAN and its chapters all over the world committed to serving the people by educating, organizing and mobilizing Filipino youth, students, and people to join the struggle for national liberation and democracy in the Philippines.

Here in New York City, we celebrate the anniversary of Anakbayan New York, continuing to show the importance of Filipino American youth in the national democratic struggle of the Philippines.

Lumalakas, lumalawak, lumalaban, Anakbayan!
Kabataang Makabayan, Lumalaban!
Kabataang Lumalaban, Makabayan!
Makibaka, Huwag Matakot!
Sulong, Kabataan!

November 30, 2014 marks 50 years since the founding of KM. Anakbayan NY joins the celebration of KM’s 50th anniversary and upholds the revolutionary tradition of Filipino youth.
